Set along the west bank of the White River off Hazel Dell Parkway, Hazel Landing Park is a 41-acre park feels like a true hideaway. The entrance is unassuming and the parking lot is small, which keeps the foot traffic light and the atmosphere unhurried.

The park is layered with open greenspace, wooded areas, and direct access to the river. The 1.2-mile loop winds through mature trees and along the water, with soft light filtering through the canopy in the late afternoon. The standout feature is the new Bur Oak Bridge, a 500-foot pedestrian bridge spanning the White River. Its scale and architecture create a striking, modern visual element woven into the natural setting, and it gives us the option to extend a session across the bridge into Heritage Park for even more variety.

this park is ideal for a session that feels grounded and unhurried. The river, the woods, and the bridge together offer a range of moods in one location. Hazel Landing is one of my favorite locations fall sessions!
