FULL-TIME PET PHOTOGRAPHER!

Updated: Oct 10

ree

Eighteen years ago, I walked through the doors of Seven Corners, Inc. for the first time. I was just 23 years old - eager to learn and grow. What I didn’t know then was just how much that place, and the people in it, would shape me, not just professionally but personally.

The decision to leave Seven Corners wasn’t something I arrived at quickly. It’s been a place of growth, creativity, and connection. I’ve had the privilege of working alongside some of the most generous, brilliant, and kind-hearted people I’ve ever known. They’ve challenged me, supported me, laughed with me, and helped me become the person I am today. For that, I will always be deeply grateful. This isn’t a goodbye to the people - it’s simply the turning of a page.

Because now, after nearly two decades, I’m stepping into something that has been quietly calling my name for years: I’ve officially retired from corporate life and am now a full-time pet photographer.

Cue the happy tears and the deep exhale.

To my incredible team of Platform, Networking, Data, and Software Engineers - thank you. You’ve been the absolute best part of the journey.

A NEW CHAPTER: FULL-TIME PET PHOTOGRAPHY

For those who know me, photography has never been just a side project. It’s been a passion and a purpose. I’ve poured my heart into private client work - especially luxury pet portrait sessions - and each session has been a beautiful reminder of why I do this: to celebrate the bond we share with the animals we love, to freeze time before it slips away, and to create heirloom artwork that tells your story.

Now, I get to give it my full attention and energy.

COMMERCIAL PET PHOTOGRAPHY

Starting later this month, I’ll also be expanding into commercial pet photography. If you know any pet-loving businesses who want to bring their brand to life through vibrant, authentic imagery that puts personality and storytelling front and center - send them my way. I’ve dreamed of bridging the gap between soulful pet portraits and dynamic commercial work for years, and I can’t wait to explore this space more deeply.

WILDLIFE PHOTOGRAPHY COURSES

Because the natural world (especially birding) continues to inspire me daily, I’m working on a nature and wildlife photography course. It will be designed for photographers of all skill levels who want to grow technically while connecting more meaningfully with the world around them. Stay tuned for those details coming soon!

WHAT THIS MEANS FOR MY CLIENTS

With this transition, I now have more session availability this fall! I’m also upgrading my client experience with thoughtful touches like personalized wall art mock-ups (using photos of your own home) and beautifully printed welcome packets to help you plan for your session.

Most importantly, I’m thrilled to offer a deeper level of creative collaboration and bring even more intention into every part of the experience.

Whether you’re booking a luxury pet portrait session, commissioning a brand shoot, or joining one of my upcoming courses, my goal is the same: to help you create something truly magical.

I’m not just working in photography now - I’m building a life around it.

LET ME RE-INTRODUCE MYSELF

If we haven’t officially met yet - Hi, I’m Amy!

I’m a former engineering manager turned full-time photographer, dog mom to Mickey (my soul dog) and Brutus (our sweet-as-pie labra-dork). I’m someone who believes deeply in the power of slowing down and noticing the beauty right in front of us.

During my 18 years at Seven Corners, I led teams, designed solutions, and collaborated with some of the brightest minds in the business. That time shaped me in countless ways. It taught me how to lead with empathy, how to listen for what matters, and how to approach every challenge with equal parts heart and intention.

Photography, though, has always been more than a creative outlet - it’s how I connect with the world around me. Whether I’m capturing the soulful gaze of a senior dog or the wild tension of a bird taking flight, I’m always chasing those fleeting, meaningful moments.

I’m a bit of a paradox: part strategy-minded engineer, part wildflower-chasing creative. I love earthy tones and bold light, and I’m not afraid to get muddy for “the shot.” I care deeply about details, the quiet in-between moments, and the way an image can hold emotion long after the shutter clicks.

Outside of photography, you’ll find me walking Brutus, visiting local bookstores, or getting completely lost in a symphonic piece by Hans Zimmer. I’m endlessly curious, love birding, and always up for meaningful conversation.

Every Friday night, Chris and I go on a date night to Half Priced Books and grab a bite to eat. This particular day resulted in a great book haul!

What’s Lighting Me Up Right Now

  • What I’m reading: The Will of the Many by James Islington (can’t put it down—epic world-building and a fascinating magic system)

  • Most recently viewed movie: The Life of Chuck (unexpectedly poetic and deeply human)

  • Newest obsession: Taking Brutus to the Central Park Dog Park (we're new members—he’s thriving, and honestly, so am I)

  • On my vision board: A bird photography trip to Brazil, more dog photography workshops, and saying “yes” to opportunities that scare me just a little

At the heart of it all, I just really love telling stories. I believe in art that moves us, stories that stay with us, and the kind of work that makes people feel something. Whether you’re here to celebrate your best friend, elevate your brand, or learn how to use your camera in a way that feels intuitive and inspired - I’m so glad our paths crossed.

Let’s make something beautiful together. ❤️ 🐾 📸
